Top Ten Dr. Seuss Books

Dr. Seuss's birthday is March 2nd. He is an author whose work is pretty universally loved by all children and whose work has inspired and motivated many children as they learn to read. I see this at the after-school program I run, so in honor of Dr. Seuss, I am listing (this time in order, with #1 being my favorite) my top 10 Dr. Seuss books.

10. The Lorax
9. Go, Dog Go!
8. Horton Hears a Who
7. My Book About Me (I had so much fun filling this in when I was a kid)
6. The Sneetches and Other Stories
5. There's a Wocket in My Pocket
4. Fox in Sox
3. How the Grinch Stole Christmas - as someone not into gifts at Christmas and who thinks everything (especially holidays, all holidays) is over-materialized in this country, I love the message that Christmas is about being together and sharing love, not about the presents
2. One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish - the Dr. Seuss book I remember the most from my childhood
1. Green Eggs and Ham (moved into #1 spot largely because of the movie "I Am Sam," which I absolutely love)
